Kindness Rocks: Using Art as a Tool to Promote Positive Feelings 09-10 1-2pm Longmont Senior Center, 910 Longs Peak Ave Older adults Christine Saunders, Life Coach of Wholehearted Life Coaching – facilitator Enjoy painting a positive message on a rock to place in the community: Our Kindness Rocks project goal is simple… to promote random acts of kindness to unsuspecting recipients by painting and dropping inspirational rocks around our community.
These rocks are for anyone who needs them. Take them, leave them, photograph them, or share them with someone who needs a little kindness and love.
Supplies will be provided. We encourage you to Bring Your Own Rock “BYOR” (we will have some there if you forget ????)
Connect with friends and your community for this fun filled morning of promoting and sharing kindness.
Conversation Starter Film: Dissonance 09-13 9-10am Longmont Senior Center, 910 Longs Peak Ave Older adults Brandy Queen, LPC Need a lift me up? During September, Suicide Prevention month you can stop by the Firehouse Art Center and pick up letters of encouragement and positivity. Take one and leave a preprinted one for the next person or write your own note to leave for the next person who needs encouragement. The encouragement board will be available beginning Tuesday Sept. 10 at the Firehouse Art Center, 667 4th Ave.

Celebration of Ryan Spickard’s Life with Poetry and Contemplation 09-11 3 – 5 pm 220 Collyer St, Longmont, CO 80501 Cornelious Spickard, Stephanie Pheap Imagine a brief pause in your day. Time to soak in the words of poetry. Share in the company of listening ears & open hearts. Come and welcome the language of poetry into your life. Poetry and contemplative reading practices are tools for reflecting and connecting more deeply with our own inner wisdom. We will read and listen to poems, journal, and share our individual responses.
Vision Board Workshop 09-12 6 – 7:30 pm Recovery Café 402 Kimbark St, Longmont, CO 80501 Teens and Adults Christine Saunders, Life Coach of Wholehearted Life Coaching – facilitator Vision Boards – one of the most valuable tools for self-expression, a way create a tangible example, idea or expression of your future tomorrows. It can represent your goals, dreams and ideal life. Create & imagine a bright vision of your many tomorrows using collages & visioning techniques. Supplies provided.
Community Memory Weaving 09-13 6 – 9 pm Firehouse Art Center 667 4th Ave, Longmont, CO 80501 All Ages Paula Peacock – facilitator We are all connected in the warp and weft of life.
Participate in a Community Memory Weaving by Celebrating someone you know who has died by suicide or seriously considered it. Strips of fabric will be supplied to use to hold your loved ones’ name in the Weaving. Stop by the Firehouse Art Center, 667 4th Ave., Sept. 13 between 6 -9 pm to add the name of a loved one to the Community’s Collaborative Memory Weaving Project.
This project will be included at the Many More Tomorrows Festival on Saturday September 14th.
